India is an important source of natural green marble, offering a distinctive combination of rich colours, intricate patterns, durability, and versatile applications. Indian green marble is used in residential interiors, commercial buildings, hotels, luxury properties, and architectural projects worldwide. For international importers, stone distributors, wholesalers, and construction material suppliers, understanding the major green marble quarry locations in India is an essential step towards sourcing suitable materials.

Rajasthan is the principal region associated with Indian green marble production, particularly around Udaipur, Kesariyaji (Rishabhdeo), parts of Dungarpur, Gogunda, & Churu Distt. in Rajasthan. These regions are known for their natural stone resources and established marble processing industry. Aravali Marbles, an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer and exporter, serves buyers seeking Indian natural stone for diverse commercial and architectural applications.

Key Green Marble Quarry Locations in India

Udaipur and the surrounding districts of southern Rajasthan are important sources of natural green marble, Udaipur is considered to be one of the Top Green Marble Quarry Locations in India. For your international B2B buyers, it is useful to describe the quarry belts by location, stone variety, and the types of green marble products available.

The key areas to discuss include Rishabhdeo (Rishabhdev/Kesariyaji), Dungarpur, Bhutala, Gogunda, and other surrounding parts of Udaipur and southern Rajasthan. However, not every location produces the same variety of green marble, and some areas are better known for other natural stones. Individual quarry locations and commercially used stone names should be verified before publishing precise origin claims.

1. Rishabhdeo (Rikhabdeo / Kesariyaji)

It’s a major green marble belt

Location: South of Udaipur, toward Kherwara and the Gujarat border.

Rishabhdeo is one of the best-known sources of Indian Green Marble. The stone is commercially known as Verde Guatemala, Green Guatemala, Rishabhdeo Green, Kesariyaji Green, Baroda Green or Udaipur Green. It commonly features light to dark bottle-green shades, with natural calcite and magnetite markings. Aravali Marbles is the largest Green Marble Supplier & Exporter in India.

Commercial products: Green marble blocks, gangsaw slabs, cutter slabs, tiles, cut-to-size pieces and custom architectural components.

2. Dungarpur district

Location: South of Udaipur, extending toward Simalwara and the Gujarat border.

Dungarpur has documented occurrences of green serpentine marble. Important named localities include Rohanwara, Mal-Surata, Peeth, Manpur and Dachki. Green marble is also reported near Dewal, Surata and Hirata. This area green marble is also commercially known as Verde Guatemala, Green Guatemala, Marmol Verde in the international market. Aravali Marbles Udaipur is the leading supplier of Indian Granite and Marble

Commercial relevance: A significant regional source of green stone for domestic processing and export. Buyers should verify the exact quarry and the commercial grade being offered.

3. Bhutala – Gogunda belt

Location: Around Bhutala in the Gogunda area, north-west of Udaipur, connected geologically to the wider green marble belt. The world famous spider green marble comes from this area only.

The official Udaipur District Survey Report identifies a green marble belt extending from Sultanji Ka Kherwada in the Jhadol area toward Bhutala in Gogunda. Nearby named mining areas include Modi, Chhippala, Undithal, Kalighati and Kankan Ka Guda. Aravali Marbles in Udaipur is the Best Granite and Marble Exporters in India.

Commercial relevance: A useful area to investigate for green marble blocks and raw material for slab and tile production. Exact colours and patterns vary by quarry.

4. Jhadol – Sultanji Ka Kherwada

Location: South and south-east of Udaipur, within the wider green marble belt.

This area is especially relevant because government mineral documentation identifies it as part of the green marble zone continuing toward Bhutala. It is therefore useful to describe Jhadol and Sultanji Ka Kherwada as part of the wider regional quarry belt, rather than as one isolated quarry. Aravali Marbles in Udaipur is the certified Indian marble supplier for global b2b customers.

Commercial relevance: Potential sourcing area for green marble, with quarry-level inspection needed to establish the specific shade, pattern and block availability.

5. Bidasar – Churu District in Rajasthan

Bidasar Green Marble, also known as Rainforest Green Marble or Rain Forest Green Marble, comes from the Bidasar area of Churu district in Rajasthan. Geological research documents serpentinite and other ultramafic rocks around Bidasar, Dunkar, Charwas and Surawas.

Rainforest Green is supplied in blocks, slabs, tiles and cut-to-size products, subject to availability. Its distinctive veining makes it especially attractive for feature walls, decorative panels, fireplaces, reception areas and other architectural applications.

Technical Specifications and Available Sizes of Indian Green Marble

Green marble from India can be supplied in several formats, depending on the material, processing capabilities, intended application, and order requirements. Selecting the right format helps importers optimise fabrication, shipping, installation, and inventory planning.

Common product formats include:

Green Marble Blocks: Suitable for stone processors and manufacturers with their own cutting and fabrication facilities.
Green Marble Slabs: Available for flooring, wall cladding, countertops, vanity tops, and large-format installations.
Green Marble Tiles: Suitable for distributors, retailers, contractors, and projects requiring modular dimensions.
Cut-to-Size Green Marble: Produced according to approved dimensions for specific architectural and construction applications.

Thicknesses such as 10 mm, 15 mm, 18 mm, 20 mm & 30 mm are available with us. Other thicknesses and dimensions may be possible for suitable materials and confirmed orders. We are Verde Guatemala Marble Quarry Owners & Exporters for the last 20+ years to the international b2b customers.

The physical and technical properties of green marble can vary according to its geological characteristics and the specific material selected. Buyers should not assume that every green marble variety has identical strength, porosity, or water absorption.

For commercial projects, importers should request relevant technical information, including dimensions, thickness tolerances, finish, water absorption, strength data where available, and applicable quality inspection documentation. Suitability for exterior use, wet areas, or demanding applications should be assessed against the material's properties and intended installation conditions.

Surface Finishes and Customisation Options

The surface finish plays an important role in the final appearance, maintenance requirements, and suitability of green marble for different applications. Our customer can get all 7 types of green marble variants in the below finishes as per order.

Common finishes include:

Polished Green Marble: Enhances colour depth and natural veining with a smooth, reflective surface.
Honed Green Marble: Provides a smooth, matte appearance for understated contemporary designs.
Leathered or Textured Green Marble: May be available for selected materials, offering a more tactile surface character.
Custom-Finishes Green Marble: Can be considered according to the material, processing capability, and project specifications.

Importers should confirm finish availability for the exact marble variety they intend to purchase. They should also specify edge profiles, dimensions, tolerances, packaging requirements, and any special fabrication needs before production begins.
